In this season of thanks, a traditional thank-you note to your clients shows your appreciation. Do your clients know you appreciate them?
“People are not able to have in-person contact and the connections they’re used to, so they hunger for those meaningful connections,” says Lindsey Roy, CMO of Hallmark. “People are discovering or remembering cards.”
Writing thank you cards to clients is a powerful expression of gratitude. Here are a few steps to writing thank you cards.
- Use the correct greeting, including preferred pronouns.
- Include an expression of gratitude for their business.
- Include specific details if appropriate.
- Say thank you again.
- Use an appropriate closing.
- Sign your card.
A thank you card should not be used as an opportunity to get your customers to spend more money. Nothing makes a letter from a company (masquerading as a thank you letter) seem more insincere than immediately asking the recipient to buy something.
